Larry Kresek’s Biography in various lengths.

The longer one:

Larry Kresek is an illustrator / educator having moved with his wife Joan, to Denver in 1997 from Florida and is the Chair of the Illustration Department at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Shortly after arrival, they traveled to mainland China to meet their two young children, Kai and Zoe. Larry was educated at the University of Delaware, the Art Center College of Design, the Paier School, Eckerd College, and Syracuse University. He has worked as a freelance illustrator starting in 1970, from his early days in New York City, where he created paperback covers for Dell, Fawcett, Ballentine, Warner, Doubleday and DAW, as well as doing movie posters, national ads and pharmaceutical illustrations. He was the first chair for the illustration department at the Ringling School of Art and Design, in 1981, where he was instrumental in the growth and development of that program for sixteen years. His editorial illustrations have won local, regional and national awards, most notably in Print Magazine's New York Regional competition. He has been a judge at the Society of Illustrators, where his work has been included in the Annual Show, as well as currently in the traveling Society show: Favorite Flix. Most recently, he completed his Masters in Illustration at Syracuse University under the watchful eye of Murray Tinkelman, the chair of the graduate program.

Larry Kresek is an award winning illustrator / educator and currently serves as the Chair of the Illustration Department at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He started is career in 1970 as a freelance illustrator in New York City, painting paperback covers and has been a judge at the New York Society of Illustrators as well as an exhibitor in their annual shows.
